We are taking our dual clutch knowledge to automatics! The Ford 10R80 is a game changer. Having very close ratio gears keeps the 5.0 Coyote motor in the exact powerband it needs for the most power. There are also issues with the transmission including CDF drum bushing failure, leaking seals, or even worse clutch pack failure. This rebuild will address all the issues by modifying and upgrading the internals. All rebuilds come with all new seals/filters/gaskets/orings/clutch pistons/Amsoil ATF fluid.

Valvebody modifications are performed on every transmission. Services include increased lube flow circuit pressure, line pressure increase, modified latch and clutch regulator valves to trigger more quickly under lower pressure demand scenarios, increased torque converter apply pressure, although not required on most rebuilds. 

 

Raybestos GPZ friction material outperforms OE materials by as much as 20%. Plus, its performance improves as the power increases. 

 

Ford Mercon Fluid FAQ - The Ford ULV (ultra low viscocity) is a new fluid developed by Chevrolet and Ford in conjuction with their 10L/10R program for a fluid that has as little frictional loss as possible for USA MPG standards and that is the ONLY reason for it's use. The main issue with this fluid is it's inability to hold and dissipate heat. Because these transmissions have 10 gears it cycles between 6 clutches very often which creates heat and the factory ULV fluid cannot dissipate heat quick enough and causes clutch heat spotting, and flaring. As power and track demand increases these problems multiply; and as it breaks down it provides even less lubricity for the valvebody bores and over time causes valvebody failure. We replace the Mercon ULV with Amsoil Signature ATF as it is very similar in viscocity but the thermal capacity is almost double that of the ULV and has much longer service intervals. We use this on every transmission whether it's stock or built.
